This hotel is a disgrace to the Taj brand. I stayed here during a road trip we undertook to Rajasthan. The moment we entered were asked to pay upfront or else we wont get our room keys. Despite telling them that the payment will be settled before checkout, the front desk staff insisted on paying upfront. Even though I had shared the ID proofs of all the guests beforehand via email, their staff didn't have it. After being a patron of Taj for the last twenty years and a member of taj inner circle, it was very disappointing to be treated this way. I had requested for inter connected rooms but that was not given. The rooms given had broken furniture and balconies which have not been cleaned for years. The cupboard was chipped and the arm rest of the office chair was torn and broken. The hallways are very dirty, and regulsr housekeeping seems to missing. The charges are of a five star hotel but the cleanliness and service is pathetic..Rooms are smelly too. Food that is ordered takes hours to come. I had asked for packed lunch for my return trip at 10.30am and this was delivered only at 11.30am. Despite telling them to pack 4 portions of Veg Pulao , only 3 portions were packed and service quality of the restaurant staff is below average. All in all a waste of money. I will not recommend this hotel. The hotel does not deserve the Gateway tag.
